Owainsdottir is Steingrimur Gudmundsson, Helen Adam and George Whitfield.
As Owainsdottir (Owain’s daughter in Icelandic), Steingrimur, George and Helen perform Welsh and Icelandic songs and tunes. They will present a set of the music of mountain peoples, and the songs of lonely high windy places, sung in their original languages. Our Welsh music is well-known in Fishguard, but its commonalities with Icelandic folk music are surprising and touching. As international musicians, our music is also influenced by Klezmer, Classical Indian percussion and rock, all of which informs our presentation of this music.
