Entertainment in Care Homes and Day Centres
I am a self-employed accordion player and singer from Pembrokeshire and most of my daytime work is in care homes and day centres, including those for adults with special needs. As a care home entertainer I aim to perform in a friendly informal way, encouraging audiences to join in. I have a wide musical repertoire to cater for all tastes and I love to have conversations about songs and singers with residents.
Concerts, Music Sessions and Sing-a-Long
My concerts as a care home entertainer feature popular songs from many genres: show-tunes like Cabaret or Edelweiss, Welsh classics such as Calon Lan, sing-a-long like Roll out the Barrel along with country, love songs and rock and roll. I performed well over 100 different songs last year alone and requests are always welcome!
I bring a small, high quality speaker for a comfortable sound level and a bag of percussion – bells, maracas, and tambourines for people to join in.
A one hour daytime concert on a weekday is £70. (An extra travel charge may be needed more than half an hours drive from Narberth, for example my Llanelli customers pay £80)
Where I have been playing
Each year I play over 100 George Whitfield concerts in care homes and day centres from Swansea to Cardigan including Barchester Homes (Plas y Dderwen, Llys y Tywysog and Hafan y Coed), Pembroke Haven, Bryn y Wawr, Torestin, Ty Mair, Glasfryn, Lynnefield, Blainmarlais, Brynterion, Sunnybank, Elliots Hill, Apley Lodge, Erw Hir, East Park, Perrots Lodge, Rickeston Mill Nursing Home and Ridgeway.
